Bid Bond

Bid Bond – A sort of agreement guaranty bond. It is a three-party agreement between the Principal, the Obligee as well as the Surety. The bond verifies that if the contractor is the low bidder, they will become part of a contract for the proposal. The bond serves as insurance coverage to shield the Obligee, and makes up for the costs on rebidding a project if the Principal does not contract.
